The Calm House

Privacy

Draft policy for the private beta. Last updated 23 July 2026.

What we collect right now

If you join the waitlist we store your email address, optionally your name, and the date you signed up. That is all. We use it once — to invite you to the beta.

Your household’s information

Everything you put into The Calm House — events, jobs, lists, meals, storage locations — belongs to your household and is visible only to the people you invite into it. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

Location reminders

Location reminders are strictly optional and off until you turn them on. When enabled, your device recognises when you arrive somewhere useful and shows you the relevant items. We commit to the following:

  • Your live location is never shown to other members of your household.
  • We store the minimum needed to deliver a reminder, and you can delete it at any time.
  • You can turn location reminders off globally, or for a single list.
  • We explain why the permission is useful before your device asks for it.

Deleting your information

Email hello@thecalmhouse.co.uk and we will remove you from the waitlist, or delete your household and everything in it, without asking you why.

This is a working draft for the private beta and is not yet a complete UK GDPR privacy notice. A full policy — naming our data processors, lawful bases, retention periods and your rights as a data subject — will be published before The Calm House opens to the public.
